A Smarter Intranet Delivered

Con Edison, one of the nation’s largest energy providers, wanted a single, intuitive digital platform to unite 15,000 employees across subsidiaries. With no centralized repository for operational data, employees faced fragmented information, limited access, and inconsistent communication. Together, we envisioned a scalable intranet with human-centered design at its core to streamline operations, boost engagement, and foster a safety-first culture. By analyzing employee needs, we consolidated over 1,200 pages into 120 and introduced intuitive features to improve navigation and communication. The results were immediate: a 50% increase in search use, 30% higher employee satisfaction, and daily engagement from 76% of employees one-year post-launch. This innovative platform earned recognition as a top 10 intranet by Nielsen Norman Group in 2020.

In addition to helping us achieve critical business goals, modernizing our workplace will save on costs by reducing the time employees spend locating tools and information, employing standard templates to develop departmental content and sites, and introducing new digital forms with automated workflows.
