As West Monroe’s president and a member of the Board of Directors, Gil oversees all client-facing parts of the business, including consulting lines, client success, and the market growth functions, strategy, revenue, commercial growth, and marketing. Under his leadership, he ensures we address our clients’ needs, both immediate and long-term. Previously, he served as West Monroe’s COO.
When Gil joined West Monroe in 2010, he was employee No. 1 in New York. Since then, he built the New York office into one of West Monroe’s largest and one of New York’s top workplaces. Under his leadership, he built and led several industry and horizontal practices in the New York market, and the firmwide Financial Services practice. Most recently as COO, he transformed the firm’s operating model preparing the firm to continuing future growth.
Throughout his career, Gil has also been a trusted adviser to financial services institutions and leading private equity firms, using his expertise to guide our clients through rapid industry shifts. He earned a strong track record for developing and executing growth opportunities and successful transformations combining strategic, operational, and digital expertise. In addition, he partnered with leading private equity firms to help them create value across their portfolios, with a focus on technology-enabled strategies broadly.
Gil’s experience spans three decades. At BearingPoint Europe, he led Management Consulting in the United Kingdom and served as financial services managing director in New York. He was also previously with MBNA (now Bank of America) and AT Kearney. Gil began his career with KPMG’s audit unit. He has a B.S. from the University of Maryland College Park and an M.B.A. from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
What makes Gil different
Since 2010, Gil has been instrumental in leveraging his entrepreneurial and global experience to scale the firm and expand its scope and global presence. Growing up splitting time between playing European handball at a professional level and windsurfing and scuba diving in the Mediterranean and Red Sea off Israel’s coast, Gil’s leadership and team orientation came early. Gil has lived and worked on three continents and has made New York City his center of gravity since 1996, where he lives with his wife and three children.
