West Monroe honored with NatureBridge Corporate Sustainability Award

West Monroe Partners, a national business and technology consultancy, today announced the firm was honored with NatureBridge’s Corporate Sustainability Award at its annual Evening on the Lake fundraiser gala.

West Monroe was recognized for the contributions the firm has made to the organization’s operations through the pro-bono services West Monroe provided. NatureBridge provides hands-on environmental science programs for children and teens at six national parks across the country. The Corporate Sustainability Award recognizes corporations that go above and beyond to create significant, lasting impact that enables them to better carry out their mission.

“Our mission is to develop the next generation of leaders, and one of the ways we do that is by lending our expertise to help non-profits excel at their mission,” said Brian Paulen, Managing Director and leader of West Monroe’s Seattle office. “We are honored to have this commitment recognized by NatureBridge, and are proud to support their efforts to promote environmental literacy and leadership in youth.”

West Monroe and NatureBridge have partnered together for more than two years. Most recently, West Monroe assisted NatureBridge with a revamp of its Salesforce instance to create a highly efficient sales process that allows employees to reach more students and collaborate better between campuses, ultimately enabling the organization to improve their operations and better serve youth and the environment. In addition, Todd Cota, a senior manager in West Monroe’s technology practice, has served on NatureBridge’s Olympic region board since 2015.

“With West Monroe’s support, our systems are in a better position to scale for the future, allowing us to operate much more efficiently, connect more youth to the outdoors, and foster environmental literacy in tomorrow’s stewards,” said Phil Kilbridge, NatureBridge CEO. “We hope West Monroe’s multi-pronged approach to corporate social responsibility provides inspiration to the business community about the various ways they can support not-for-profit organizations.”

West Monroe’s corporate social responsibility program is known as the 1+1+1 Program. Each year, the firm sets a goal to donate 1 percent of its time via volunteering, 1 percent of its talent via pro-bono work, and 1 percent of its treasure (profits) via charitable donations. In 2017, West Monroe donated nearly $400,000, provided more than 6,300 hours in pro-bono work, and volunteered more than 6,800 hours outside of working hours for non-profit organizations.

“As someone who has always been passionate about the outdoors, I believe the work NatureBridge does to develop the next generation of environmental stewards is critical to protecting our national parks,” Cota said. “I’m proud of the way West Monroe has supported the NatureBridge mission, and grateful that West Monroe encourages and supports my effort to create meaningful impact within the organization.”
