West Monroe’s Penny Wand named one of Consulting’s Women Leaders in Technology

West Monroe’s Penny Wand, a director in the firm’s Technology practice, was honored as one of Consulting’s 2020 Women Leaders in Technology. The inaugural recognition program spotlights the impact women in the technology consulting fields make every day. The publication selected leaders in technology for excellence in three categories—leadership, client service and innovation. Penny is recognized for excellence in leadership.

“Penny has distinguished herself as leader who embodies West Monroe’s mission and values both within the firm and with her clients.” said Greg Layok, leader of West Monroe’s Technology practice. “Her commitment to developing the next generation of technology leaders, mentoring female consultants, and leading our inclusion and diversity council makes West Monroe a better firm. She does all this while serving as a trusted advisor to our client executives, based on her commitment to understanding their business issues and helping them find practical solutions to drive value.”

Penny has made significant contributions to people development and practice leadership since joining the firm in 2018. For example, she identified an opportunity to fill gaps in the tech leadership pipeline by working with our technology senior managers to help them understand what it means – and takes – to become a director in a consulting organization. She created a leadership development program that has shown tremendous early success in improving understanding of and access to career development opportunities.

From a client perspective, Penny has been integral in growing West Monroe’s data and analytics capabilities, specializing in helping organizations become insight driven.
