1,200 volunteers collaborated with 45 organizations to help them serve their mission
Each June, West Monroe dedicates a Friday to community service. Our National Day of Service offers a chance for us to partner with organizations that are working to solve some of our communities’ toughest challenges, while collaborating with colleagues we may not work with day-to-day.
Last year, our National Day of Service planning teams achieved what seemed impossible – shifting the in-person volunteering experience to virtual in a matter of weeks for 1,100 volunteers and 44 nonprofit partners in nine different cities. After consulting with leadership at our nonprofit partners, we decided to host a virtual Day of Service for the second year in a row to ensure the safety our people, our nonprofit partners, and their clients.
And this year it was bigger and better than ever! Our planning team once again rallied to connect more than 1,200 West Monroe volunteers with 45 organizations, serving nearly 5,000 hours on 71 projects.
National Day of Service—and community service in general—is core to our values. As our Chief Operating Officer Doug Armstrong put it, “Philanthropy has been part of our values for a long time, and our employees support many different nonprofits and causes throughout the year. But National Day of Service is a day we all come together with a singular purpose. It also gives us a day to reflect and be grateful for all the opportunities we have that are not afforded to everyone in this country.”
