International Women’s Day (March International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender inclusivity.
This year’s theme is #BalanceforBetter. We know balance is not just a women's issue: it's a business issue. Whether that means achieving balance in the boardroom, or balance at home, balance is essential for economies and communities to thrive.
West Monroe’s Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) is an employee resource group that helps women thrive at West Monroe. We work with the entire firm to foster an inclusive culture and work toward balance.
West Monroe strives to build a culture that is supportive of our many talented women and to continue to grow the ranks of women at our firm, especially in senior leadership. We believe gender-balanced teams deliver better work, are more relatable to our clients, and help us recruit and retain the best and brightest.
In addition, in a demanding profession like consulting, conversations about “balance” often focus on work/life integration. To increase our retention of women and help both men and women grow into the next generation of leaders at West Monroe, we know we must provide a culture that supports balance when our employees need it—whether that’s a flexible schedule to accommodate child or elder care or the exploration of a new career path within the firm. We think it’s important to share these stories to create awareness of people have creatively addressed challenges in balancing career and personal goals with the support of the firm.
The WLN reached out to our colleagues to find out what #BalanceforBetter means to them and how West Monroe has supported them.
