Scalable but secure infrastructure is more critical than ever. That’s where Andrew comes in. He develops cloud-based solutions that enable future growth while also providing technical leadership for recovery teams charged with restoring business operations disrupted by ransomware and other cybersecurity incidents. His work has compelling financial impact—for example, preventing $2 million per day in lost credit card transactions and enabling $1.5 million of internet orders per day to flow successfully into a client’s systems.
Complexity doesn’t faze Andrew. For a major healthcare product manufacturer, he led a global workstation operating system upgrade project that supported more than 30 languages and regions. He also has significant pre- and post-transaction experience with business acquisitions, corporate divestitures, and spin-offs. His technical leadership has helped customers complete migrations and transitions earlier than anticipated, saving millions in services fees.
Known for his ability to devise unique solutions to complex challenges, he worked with Microsoft and Equinix to develop a new mechanism to migrate a client’s multi-terabyte data sets to Azure at a much faster rate than supported by any of Microsoft’s official tools. This enabled a “hot cutover” migration in an incredibly tight timeframe.
Andrew joined West Monroe in 2006 after earning a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He holds certifications in Windows Server, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft System Center, VMware, and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
Even though his role is to lead and engage teams, he likes to stay close to the nitty gritty of the technology he is implementing. In fact, he is happiest when he can roll up his sleeves and dig into a technical problem or tough troubleshooting issue.
He understands that overly complex systems require excess overhead and are difficult to transition to client management—and that ultimately affects their value. So, he makes it a priority to work with his clients to ease the transition and transfer of knowledge.
