Mergers and acquisitions are filled with challenges—but that’s exactly the sort of environment where Dan excels. Comfortable working amid complexity, he can quickly find solutions and advance the intended results. For example, he played an instrumental role in establishing the integration management office—including the processes, tools, and governance—for the supply chain group of a $4.8 billion global beverage manufacturer. Coming on to the project just prior to a $12 billion merger, he also developed meaningful and accurate tracking mechanisms that helped teams deliver $550 million in synergy savings over a five-year period.
Dan loves bringing together his broad experience in areas such as compliance, data governance, business intelligence, agile methodologies, and IT architecture and design to reduce risk and smooth out the M&A process. His background spans multiple industries, including financial services, life sciences, high tech & software, and consumer products.
Prior to joining West Monroe, he held several leadership roles, managing both domestic and international IT departments and program management offices (PMO). In addition to working for larger consulting firms, he ran his own consultancy, working with organizations in Rwanda, Iceland, Colombia, and Bolivia on the global expansion of their product offerings.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational management and entrepreneurship from Colorado State University and both an MBA and master’s degree in international business from the University of Colorado at Denver.
Dan’s love for tackling challenges manifests in his personal life as well as professional, and he looks for any opportunity to experience new things, like mountain biking, rock climbing, skiing, and scuba diving. An avid mountaineer, he climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Mount Kota Kinabalu in Borneo, and more than 20 of Colorado’s “14er” peaks. He also enjoys connecting with people and other cultures and has visited more than 30 countries.
He has a passion for cross-cultural integration and building stronger and more diverse teams. A hands-on leader, he believes a team accomplishes more when it moves together, and he isn’t afraid to dive in to help advance deliverables.
He is a regular guest lecturer and panelist for the University of Colorado Denver’s MBA and International Business programs, as well as an informal mentor to current and past students.
