Dan has a drive – and a track record – for building world-class companies through thoughtful and strategic organic growth and acquisitions. As a Principal in the Private Capital Group of MSD Partners, L.P., and a member of the Board of Directors, he brings that dedication to West Monroe as the firm defines and executes its next stage of growth.
Throughout his career, he has helped companies accelerate value creation through corporate strategy and decision-making, mergers and acquisitions, marketing and IT strategy, and capital markets execution. Prior to joining MSD in 2020, he was a Principal with Searchlight Capital Partners, where he focused on private equity and distressed investments in the technology, media, and communication sectors. Previously, he was an associate with both Court Square Capital Partners and M|C Partners. He began his career as an investment banker at Evercore after earning a bachelor’s degree with an honors specialization in global economics from Western University in Canada.
What makes Daniel different
Originally from Canada, Dan moved to the United States in 2013. He loves traveling and being outdoors – whether that is snowboarding, surfing, rock climbing or scuba diving. He completed his PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification, despite a near-death experience on the fifth of 10 dives. His favorite travel destinations are Bali, Costa Rica, and Croatia.
When not working, he spends his free time reading and practicing mindfulness and meditation, bouldering at a nearby rock-climbing gym, and enjoying the music and art scene of his Brooklyn neighborhood.
Where Daniel makes an impact
Before moving back to New York City, he was heavily involved with Social Venture Partners in Boston – an organization devoted to venture philanthropy and non-profit organizational development. Dan also provides mentorship to first-generation high school and college students in Canada interested in careers in finance and technology.
