When the challenges are the toughest, David steps in. He has guided multiple organizations through complex transformations, including merger integrations, turnarounds, restructuring, and market entry and exit to achieve rapid, profitable growth. Altogether, he has sourced, developed, executed, and integrated deals totaling more than $1 billion in value.
David’s broad experience includes insurance clients, mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, strategic alliances, and due diligence. He collaborates with colleagues and clients to build relationships with investors, analysts, and partners, as well as IT strategy and portfolio management.
He has 20 years of experience as a consultant and financial executive, creating scale in industries – primarily insurance, healthcare and media – that are experiencing significant disruption. Prior to joining West Monroe, he held leadership roles at Anthem, McKesson, and Viacom. He also held interim management and board roles at several start-ups. He earned a dual-degree in Chemistry/Physics from Whittier College and an MBA from Columbia University.
He began his career with the MTV Interactive division of Viacom International, where he co-led and built from scratch a team charged with shaping the future digital product offering for MTV Networks.
David spends much of his free time outdoors with his wife and two teens. A lifelong tinkerer, his recent projects include everything from building a huge greenhouse to gaming PCs to his latest project, a Greenland-style kayak for the Hudson River.
All of his work is grounded in a strong belief in “doing what’s right” and delivering value. He aims to quantify the art of the possible and then leads efficient, creative execution to achieve it.
