Navigating all the potential pathways to a decarbonized future amid so much change requires a steady, experienced hand. That’s where David comes in. He understands the vital role both electric and gas networks will play in helping to achieve net zero emissions. David has helped numerous clients pursue new investment opportunities and develop regulatory strategies and business models to support a clean energy future.
David has led some of the largest energy & utility change programs and post-merger integrations in the US and UK over the past decade, transforming operating models through organizational design, governance processes, and new capabilities. For a major utility, he designed and helped implement a new operating model and post-merger integration initiatives to achieve $200 million in synergy savings. He has deployed game-changing ideas in areas such as the digital utility of the future, mobility, customer experience, and analytics. In addition, many of his projects center on disruptive trends such as electric vehicles, renewable natural gas/hydrogen, and grid-edge technologies. David recently led a comprehensive assessment of hydrogen infrastructure investment opportunities in California.
David joins West Monroe from KPMG, where he was a principal in the Power & Utilities Strategy practice. He was attracted to West Monroe for the deep industry knowledge that the company brings to clients as well as the collaborative working environment. Previously, he was a managing director with Accenture, and he spent 15 years in various leadership roles with National Grid in the US and UK. He earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from MidKent College and an MBA from the University of Warwick in the UK.
What makes David different
Originally from London, David played semi-professional soccer in the UK. He enjoys running and participating in marathons and the occasional trip back to England to see his parents and brother.
While he works with energy companies across the Northeast and the country, David, his wife and their two daughters call Boston home. He particularly appreciates the city’s history and European feel – as well as its easy access to recreation, whether that is the mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire in the winter, or Cape Cod and the ocean in the summer.
Where David makes an impact
He raises funds for the children of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as well as local charities.
