For utilities navigating modernization, there are many moving parts. Eric understands this—he’s worked at the center of industry transformation for years and knows how to orchestrate change across teams to accomplish goals. For one of the world’s largest investor-owned electric and gas utilities, he built and led a team of change management practitioners to deliver and sustain results from digital products, advanced distribution management systems, and other process improvements. For another major US utility, he was the head of a financially and operationally successful generation portfolio divestiture that completed restructuring in New England.
Eric’s breadth of experience and accomplishments have established him as a trusted advisor on various industry topics, including regulatory strategy, digital transformation, change management, investment portfolio prioritization, business case evaluation, and corporate development transactions. He has deep expertise in utility ratemaking, revenue requirements, and rate case strategy. While he is known as a deep subject matter expertise in these areas, he credits his success to his ability to instill a strong culture of empowerment and inclusion within his teams.
Before joining West Monroe in 2022, Eric was head of transformation change for National Grid in New England. Prior to that, he led a multi-jurisdictional regulatory strategy and revenue requirement department at Eversource. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Eric is a lifelong musician whose love of music started with the violin. He played through college, where he was a principal violinist in the university orchestra and also discovered his interest in singing contemporary a cappella. He has since become an award-winning a cappella singer, songwriter, arranger, director, and competition judge.
Passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience to develop the next generation of leaders, Eric has been an adjunct instructor of graduate management courses at Harvard Extension School for many years and is best known for teaching its flagship course on corporate strategy.
