Understanding technology is at the heart of executing a successful transaction. That’s where Fred comes in. Over the past decade, his teams have completed more than 800 diligence projects and planned and delivered some 50 carveouts and complex mergers. He’s also partnered with hundreds of companies to define transaction-related IT strategies and technology roadmaps.

Fred got into technology early—he was a UNIX administrator by night in high school—and never slowed down. As a senior technology executive with experience as a CEO, CTO, and professional services practice leader, he has a unique understanding of private equity investors and the needs of their portfolio companies.

Over his career, Fred has built and operated several managed services and professional services organizations. He has experience managing technology initiatives for companies ranging from small businesses to upper-middle market enterprises. His expertise spans all facets of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, IT governance, and managed services.

Prior to joining West Monroe, Fred was a founding partner and CEO at Axiom Technology Group. He led the sale of Axiom in 2021 to another managed services provider. He also ran and grew the IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity practice at a private-equity focused professional services firm.

What makes Fred different

Fred started his first business in the eighth grade, buying computer equipment from the back of catalogs and then reselling it to the parents of classmates and installing it for a fee. He is an avid reader who averages over 150 books per year. He enjoys traveling with his family—he’s been to 30 of 50 states. He also likes being out in the wilderness and is building an off-grid cabin in Maine.

Where Fred makes an impact

As a member of Renaissance Executive Forum, he advises CEOs of more than a dozen Connecticut-based businesses. He’s also active in a Massachusetts-based organization that supports refugees relocating to the United States. He personally provides computers to program participants who do not have one.
