If culture is left to chance in a merger or acquisition, it can derail a deal and limit an organization’s ability to achieve its goals. Jeff makes sure that doesn’t happen. A leader on our Human Capital Management team, he works with financial and strategic buyers to lead and manage people effectively throughout a transaction – making it an engine for creating value.
All told, he has been part of 500 transactions – contributing expertise in areas such as human capital strategy, global mergers and acquisitions, carve-outs and stand-ups, Salesforce effectiveness, and workforce synergies.
Prior to joining West Monroe, Jeff was a senior partner with Mercer and global leader of the M&A Transaction Services business. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Concordia University and a law degree from Loyola University Chicago. He is also an alumnus of Northwestern University’s Kellogg Management Institute program for executives.
Jeff was the architect of Mercer’s M&A Readiness Research SeriesTM, including the first report titled People Risks in M&A Transactions (2016), as well as Flight Risk in M&A Transactions: The Art and Science of Retaining Talent (2017) and Mitigating Culture Risk to Drive Deal Value (2018).
Jeff shares his expertise broadly. He is an M&A source for media outlets around the world, a frequent speaker to the private equity industry, and author of numerous articles in business publications.
