Regardless of the complexity before him, Jim stays focused on one goal: making sure clients’ executives have access to the right data at the right time to make decisions that improve performance and enable competitive advantage. Jim Architected and developed an enterprise data warehouse for a public parking management firm operating in of the country’s largest cities. The platform supported insights into operational processes driving business decisions, fulfillment of contractual reporting compliance and enablement of advanced analytics to drive operational efficiencies.
Over more than 20 years as a business and technology consultant, he has developed the essential toolbox for delivering on that goal – deep experience in data platform design and selection, data strategy and roadmaps, ETL architecture, and data modeling and warehousing. He applies these tools to help clients define their functional and technical data requirements and then turn these into solutions that source, consolidate, access, and analyze vital business information.
Jim’s versatility is reflected in his ability to play varying roles – ranging from project manager to technical architect to development lead – depending on the situation and needs. He has also represented clients in working with their vendors to negotiate timely and scalable data delivery solutions.
Prior to joining West Monroe, he was a senior technical specialist with NTT Data, where he worked for 15 years. He has a degree in finance from the University of Iowa.
What makes Jim different
He lives in Chicago’s Northwest suburbs, where he enjoys gardening during the summer months. In addition, he welcomes any opportunity to get out to his lake house, where he spends time boating, fishing, and snowmobiling with family and friends. He once shot a hole-in-one on a 145-yard, par-3 hole at Stone Eagle in Palm Desert.

Through his passion and knowledge of data engineering, he contributes to West Monroe’s frameworks and methodology for accelerating delivery of data and analytics solutions. He also makes it a priority to mentor to up-and-coming data engineers.
