Solving complex transformation and grid-modernization challenges requires a unique combination of technology and utility operations expertise. That’s where Maria comes in with a skill set that translates to tangible impact. For example, she stood up a multi-year, multi-operating company program that produced more than $7 million in annual operational cost savings.
She supports electric generation and distribution utilities through IT and network infrastructure transformation. As a program lead for telecommunications network deployments for both wired and wireless systems, she has enabled distribution automation (DA), SCADA, and other real-time applications across the electric grid. She has also guided clients through transformation challenges such as leased line elimination, real-time network security disconnects, and network operating center (NOC) consolidation.
Her experience has been vital to building program management tools, processes, and methodologies that are part of our distinctive grid modernization capabilities. She also leads internal initiatives to digitize distributed energy resources.
She joined West Monroe in 2014 after earning a bachelor’s degree in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan.
What makes Maria different
She is a movie buff who keeps a spreadsheet for “rewriting” the Oscars with her own opinions about how nominees should have been ranked. A foodie and avid traveler, she loves trying the best restaurants all over the world, with Italy and Singapore as favorite destinations. In 2017, she dined at the world’s top restaurant in Modena, Italy. She is a native of Pittsburgh and a proud Steelers fan.

She has an uncanny ability to bring people together. She enjoys mentoring people and creating fun and effective teams that foster multidisciplinary collaboration. Committed to bettering her community, she volunteers with Chicago Cares, Working Bikes, and Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center, and is an Ambassador for the Women’s Energy Network Chicago.
