Digital transformation and the shift to remote work open companies to new possibilities—but also to new types of risk. That’s where Michael steps in. He understands the technologies that enable today’s complex business objectives, as well as the practices required to secure them and mitigate risks. He recently worked with a large financial institution that struggled with determining the applicability of cybersecurity controls for modern business applications to evaluate the risk posture of these controls to reduce audit issues but maintain agility and compliance.
Through his experience implementing complex security and infrastructure solutions, he has developed a unique blend of technical, process, industry, and project management skills to develop security solutions that meet business needs. His core skills include assessing security risks, implementing security processes to reduce risk, developing and maintaining proactive security support, and security design.
He joined West Monroe in 2005, becoming the first consultant in the Infrastructure and Operations practice. Over nearly 15 years, he worked with clients across many industries and before taking on a leadership role overseeing security and infrastructure services for energy and utilities clients. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer technology from Purdue University.

Away from work, he enjoys projects around the house, bike rides, and time with his family, including twin daughters.
Where Michael makes an impact
He is just as adept at building teams and practices as he is solutions. He created West Monroe’s managed security services practice from the ground up, and he led delivery of services in the areas of risk management, security strategy, compliance, security operations, and security program maturity. He continued to oversee the practice after its spin off into Ascend Technologies in January 2020, before rejoining West Monroe in March 2021 to focus on consulting.
