Sandy is a dynamic, innovative energy industry executive with a track record for leading successful transformations. She once orchestrated a $100 million smart grid implementation recognized as the world’s first smart city by the World Economic Forum and presented it to more than 20,000 guests from 30 countries.
Sandy provides expertise for developing transmission and distribution offerings—specifically control centers, distributed energy resource (DER) integration, and electric and gas transformation. She's also adept at aligning technological innovations with operational demands and creating cross-functional teams that collaborate effectively to maximize profitability and achieve aggressive business goals.
She has created accelerators and tools for navigating the complexities of the digital grid, improving operations performance, optimizing investments in innovative grid technologies, and enabling customer choice and DER integration while still maintaining grid safety, reliability, and security.
Prior to joining West Monroe in 2022, she was a leader of the Transmission and Distribution practice for BRIDGE Energy Group, which Accenture acquired. Previously, she was the chief operating officer for US Grid Company, a start-up consultancy delivering energy strategy and solutions to communities. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and computer science from Evangel University and an MBA from the University of Denver.
Sandy’s family moved to Colorado when she was 2 years old. She loves all the seasons, and when she’s not at work, she’s almost certainly outdoors—whether skiing, hiking, boating, or camping. In high school, she learned to trick ride for the rodeo.
She and her husband refer to their blended family of six children, three grandchildren, two dogs, and several fish as the “mixed nuts.”
Sandy is passionate about driving positive change in the energy and utility industry and mentoring others. Outside of work, she has advised on the development of online high-school science curriculum for smart grid and renewable energy. In addition, she has taught elementary-age Sunday school for over 25 years.
