New technology always generates plenty of excitement about the possibilities. Thomas turns the “possible” into the “real” – producing tangible benefits for our clients. On a recent project for a retail bank, he designed and implemented a pure metadata-driven ETL solution for building an enterprise data warehouse that uses Microsoft Azure technology. The bottom line: the bank can ingest additional data sources with simple metadata changes, reducing its development costs while producing new insights faster and more efficiently.
His experience in analytics data platform architecture, coupled with strong business acumen, makes him particularly well suited for complex analytics challenges – such as finding the best mix of traditional and cloud technologies to deliver maximum impact. He offers expertise in all things data: data modeling, data security, data analytics, data governance, and high-performance data integration. He also has experience in an array of technologies and platforms relevant to data engineering and analytics.
Before joining West Monroe, he held several data architecture and database management positions. He was also director of IT and chief information security officer for the Chicago Police Department. He earned a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

He loves travel and nature and has visited more than 30 national parks. He also enjoys reading fiction.
