West Monroe Partners, a full-service North American business and technology consultancy, today announced that David Hurst has joined the firm as a director in its Insurance practice, based in the firm’s New York City office. He has more than 20 years of systems and operations consulting experience in the insurance and other industries.
The addition of Hurst and Lou Brothers, a senior manager, both of whom are joining West Monroe from consultancy WeiserMazars, LLP, expands the firm’s Insurance practice in New York City and the East Coast.
A highly experienced insurance technology consultant with strong vendor and marketplace knowledge, Hurst will provide leadership and experienced guidance for clients in areas such as platform modernization, process improvement, core system implementation, and IT and systems strategy. His experience also encompasses business planning, implementation planning, change management, outsourcing, data conversion, and reporting. He has worked with many insurance industry leaders, as well as leading global healthcare, pharmaceutical, aerospace and defense, wholesale distribution, and professional services organizations to design and implement technology strategies and systems.
“Tomorrow’s insurance leaders will be those organizations that can simplify and create value adding customers’ interactions, run scalable operations, and produce timely actionable business strategies leveraging their data assets. Technological leadership is at the center of all of those capabilities,” said Gil Mermelstein, West Monroe’s New York City office leader. “David Hurst’s blend of business and technology experience will be a tremendous asset for insurance clients confronting this environment of modernization and significant change.”
Hurst was a principal with WeserMazars, LLP, an accounting, tax, and advisory services firm. Previously, he was founder and chief executive officer of Cogniscape, LLC, a strategic analytics innovator. His earlier roles included senior manager for Smart & Associates, LLP; senior manager in Arthur Andersen’s Business Consulting practice; and system development manager for Goldman Financial Services, Inc.
“I was impressed by West Monroe’s innovative solutions for helping its insurance clients drive future growth and competitive advantage,” said Hurst. “This is an extremely dynamic marketplace that demands the ability to deliver new products and services quickly. We are well equipped to help our clients adapt and thrive in this environment.”
