West Monroe Partners, a full-service North American business and technology consultancy, today announced that it has joined the Hortonworks Systems Integrator Partner Program. Hortonworks is the only 100-percent open-source enterprise software provider that develops, distributes and supports an ApacheTM Hadoop® platform for enterprise-grade deployments. Big data solutions, built on Hadoop, enable users to gain insight from structured and unstructured data, and are a growing area of focus for West Monroe Partners’ corporate/enterprise clients seeking to enhance their advanced analytics capabilities.
Hortonworks is a leading contributor to Apache Hadoop, an open source data management project that allows users to store and analyze vast amounts of data quickly and without significant investment. In August 2013, Hortonworks announced availability of Hortonworks Data Platform 1.3 (HDP) for Windows, the only Apache Hadoop-based distribution certified to run on Windows Server.
“West Monroe Partners is excited to launch our partnership with Hortonworks and to support its goal of growing and improving the Hadoop ecosystem,” said Dan Rosanova of West Monroe’s Technology Integration practice. “Across industries, our clients increasingly rely on analytics and big data solutions to improve performance and gain competitive advantage. Hortonworks’ recent work to advance the Hortonworks Data Platform for Windows is of great benefit to companies challenged with harvesting and utilizing enormous amounts of data distributed throughout their organizations and the opportunity to further leverage their Microsoft infrastructure platform.”
The release of HDP 1.3 for Windows enables any enterprise using Windows or Linux to use the latest features to pursue operational savings, profitability, and top-line revenue growth. The partnership will enable West Monroe Partners, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, to help enterprise clients integrate HDP 1.3 for Windows with Microsoft’s leading business intelligence tools such as Power BI for Office 365, SQL Server and Excel.
“We are very pleased to partner with West Monroe Partners due to their deep technical expertise with Microsoft products and their strong reputation in the enterprise market,” said Mitch Ferguson, vice president of business development at Hortonworks. “Hortonworks is committed to widespread adoption of Hadoop in any environment, Linux and Windows, and West Monroe Partners will play a vital part in helping us achieve this goal.”
