Our 1+1+1 Program empowers our employees to give back to our communities in a way that complements their personal and professional interests.
West Monroe Partners, a full-service business and technology consultancy, today announced that Great Place to Work® and Fortune have recognized them as one of the country's 50 Best Workplaces for Giving Back.
Great Place to Work® analyzed surveys from nearly 600 companies to rank those that best create a sense of purpose and meaning among their employees through involvement in the community. Not only do these workplaces stand out for their generosity, their team members also express a great deal of pride in what their organizations accomplish. West Monroe ranked 12th on the list.
“Before opening our doors 14 years ago, we first developed a list of core values to guide the type of people-first business we wanted to create. Due to our purpose-driven culture, Social Responsibility was added to our list of core values and continues to be one of our most highly demonstrable values. Each year, we strive to donate one percent of our time, one percent of our talent (pro-bono engagements), and one percent of our treasure (profits) to the communities in which we live and work,” said Kevin McCarty, CEO and co-founder of the firm. “Our 1+1+1 Program empowers our employees to give back to our communities in a way that complements their personal and professional interests.”
West Monroe manifests giving back to the community not only through the 1+1+1 Program, but also through The Fisher Global Service Fellowship, which allows employees 3-6 months of sponsored leave to work on a global service project of the employee’s choice. The Fisher Global Service Fellowship Program supports employees’ altruistic and humanitarian interests to make a meaningful contribution to a global cause. A number of directors hold positions on local non-profit boards as well.
The Best Workplaces for Giving Back took into consideration feedback from about 240,000 employees in a diverse range of industries, as well as their companies' volunteer programs and charitable giving relative to revenue. Overall, West Monroe Partners as a firm donated nearly $700,000 to community organizations in 2015 via the 1+1+1 program and The Fischer Global Service Fellowship. The firm continues to exceed their annual 1+1+1 program goals.
"The Best Workplaces for Giving Back demonstrate more than just a commitment to charity,” said Kim Peters, executive vice president at Great Place to Work®. “These organizations have earned employees' admiration by involving staffers in their community service efforts and contributing resources in ways that genuinely reflect their unique cultures."
West Monroe Partners and the other winning companies were selected based on responses to the Trust Index©, Great Place to Work’s employee assessment survey. Employees rated their sense that they make a difference in their jobs, the meaningfulness of their work, and the impact they feel their organizations make in the community. The list also took into account company programs and an analysis of anonymous employee comments about their workplaces.
The Best Workplaces for Giving Back is one of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work® and Fortune based upon employee survey feedback from Great Place to Work®-certified organizations.
West Monroe Partners also ranked as a best workplace in 2013, 2014 and 2015 by Great Place to Work and Fortune.
