Moves Up to No. 10 in Overall Ranking; Achieves Top-10 Rankings in Career Development, Culture, and LeadershipWest Monroe Partners, a full-service North American business and technology consultancy, today announced that it has been named one of Consulting magazine’s 2013 “Best Firms to Work For.” This is the fourth time Consulting magazine has recognized West Monroe Partners in its annual workplace ranking, a comprehensive look at the quality of life within the consulting profession’s top firms. Rankings are based on responses to an independent survey of nearly 12,000 consultants representing more than 400 firms. West Monroe Partners ranked 10th overall, up from 15th in 2012.
West Monroe Partners is listed among the top 10 firms in three of six employee satisfaction categories: 6th in Career Development, 9th in Firm Culture, and 10th in Leadership. In addition, it ranked 10th in Morale and 3rd among Multi-Service Firms. West Monroe Partners, along with all recognized consultancies, is profiled in the “Best Firms to Work For” special section of Consulting magazine’s September issue.
“This award is recognition and validation of the soundness and relevancy of the approach we defined when we founded our firm 11 years ago, which was to build something a little different from scratch,” said Kevin McCarty, West Monroe Partners’ president and co-founder. “Ours is an entrepreneurial story, just like those of many of our clients, and this has created great opportunities for our people.”
West Monroe Partners’ innovative human resources practices include a highly collaborative and participatory environment in which people at all levels contribute to the company’s direction and share in its results. Because of its size and predominantly middle-market client base, consultants have opportunities to assume significant client service and internal team responsibilities early in their careers. The firm converted to an ESOP at the end of 2012, further strengthening its commitment to 100-percent employee ownership.
West Monroe Partners has received numerous accolades for its workplace and human resource practices. In addition to recognition from Consulting magazine, the firm has been recognized nationally by Vault.com and regionally in several key markets, including Chicago, Seattle, and Columbus, Ohio.
Consulting magazine’s annual “Best Firms to Work For” survey is open to all consulting firms that currently employ at least 20 billable consultants; the publication names a separate list of “Best Small Firms” for consultancies with between 20 and 250 consultants. Results are based on survey data from employees on six, equally-weighted categories: Career Development, Compensation and Benefits, Firm Culture, Work/Life Balance, Firm Leadership, and Client Engagement.
