CHICAGO – West Monroe, a national business and technology consultancy, today announced that Dennis McRae has joined the firm as a senior director and national leader of its Consumer & Industrial Products team, which services clients across the product and manufacturing value chain. He will be based in the firm’s Minneapolis office. McRae has more than 25 years of experience working with organizations to improve top-line growth, market share, and earnings. Most recently, he was a vice president and head of the Industrials practice with Hitachi Consulting Corporation.
McRae balances executive leadership and P&L experience with functional expertise in supply chain optimization, operations management, warehousing and distribution, product development and innovation, engineering, and government and regulatory matters. In particular, he has experience developing Industry 4.0 solutions in areas that include digital factory, digital supply chain, and predictive asset management.

His broad industry experience includes the aerospace, automotive, industrials and discrete manufacturing, food and beverage, consumer products, telecommunications, packaging, chemicals, and medical device sectors. He also has extensive experience with mergers, acquisitions, and strategic alliances and partners.

While with Hitachi Consulting, McRae was responsible for overseeing delivery of operational improvement and technology services to global clients. He also led the firm’s Industry 4.0 initiative. Previously, he was vice president of operations for Celerant Consulting (acquired by Hitachi Consulting in 2012) for 10 years and director of operations for Cambridge Management Consultants. He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
